Short comedies tonight at Notre Dame

THE BALTIMORE SUN

The cast of characters ranges from an efficiency expert to policemen and an elf. Put 'em all together and you get Short Stops, by Michael Cookson. Produced by Mobtown Players, this anthology of short comedies is the latest offering in this summer's Baltimore Playwrights Festival. It opens tonight at the College of Notre Dame.

A stand-up comic and former emcee at Winchester's Comedy Club, Cookson has had plays produced in major cities including London, New York and Los Angeles. Short Stops will be directed by Dahlia Kaminsky. It features Claire Bromwell, Tony Gallahan, Leik Hawkins, Adam Schaltman, Jeff Tremper and Jason Yaffe.

Short Stops will be performed in the Marian B. Copeland Theatre in LeClerc Hall on the Notre Dame campus, 4701 N. Charles St. Show times are 8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays, through Aug. 4. Tickets are $10. Call 410-467-3057.

In last Thursday's LIVE section, the name of actor Adam Schechtman was misspelled in an item about Short Stops, an anthology of comedies now playing at the College of Notre Dame. The Sun regrets the error.
