Athletics update
In their first series after the All-Star break, the Orioles will see the teeth of Oakland's starting pitching rotation. Mulder was the American League's Pitcher of the Month for June, going 6-0 with a 2.51 ERA. Hudson is finding his rhythm, and Zito made the All-Star team. The A's just added Ted Lilly from the New York Yankees in the three-way trade that sent Oakland first baseman Carlos Pena to Detroit and Tigers pitcher Jeff Weaver to the Yankees. Lilly is scheduled to make his first start for Oakland on Monday at Tampa Bay. The Orioles took two of three from the A's in May, but Oakland has won 22 of 30 games since then. During that series against the Orioles, the A's traded Jeremy Giambi to Philadelphia for John Mabry, and Mabry is batting .397. The A's are 50-38, which is their best record at the break since 1992.
