Howard County residents are invited to Hilltop Heritage Day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday on Mount Ida Drive in Ellicott City.

The event is a celebration of Hilltop Housing, the county's recently renovated Ellicott City public housing, built in 1969 and 1970.

Eva Johnson, a former Fels Lane resident who has lived at Hilltop Housing since it was built, said the festival is to remember those who helped create Hilltop and those who have lived there and kept it operating in good form over the years.
