John J. Richardson Jr., 65, SSA computer specialist

John Jasper Richardson Jr., a retired Social Security computer specialist, died July 4 of an apparent heart attack at his home in the Barclay section of North Baltimore. He was 65.

Born in Blackstock, N.C., he moved to Baltimore with his family as a 2-year-old and resided in the same Barclay Street home throughout his life.

A 1954 graduate of Dunbar High School, he earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of Maryland, College Park and a master's degree from the University of Baltimore. He served in the Air Force from 1955 to 1959.

Mr. Richardson joined the Social Security Administration in 1963 and retired in 2000.

Services were held yesterday.

Mr. Richardson is survived by two brothers, Roosevelt Rudolph Richardson and Leo Richardson; two sisters, Ruby Harris and Gloria Cason; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom live in Baltimore.
