Potomac Jazz and Seafood Festival

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Have plans this weekend? How about a little jazz and a little seafood? Or a lot of jazz and a lot of seafood, for that matter? The Potomac River Museum will be the site of the Potomac Jazz and Seafood Festival Saturday in Colton's Point in St. Mary's County.

Have your pick of three jazz artists - Joe Byrd's Annapolis Jazz Trio (in tribute to Joe's guitarist brother Charlie Byrd) at 4:30 p.m., the Mike Stephens Project at 6 p.m. and Bob Baldwin at 8 p.m. - or catch them all. And while you're at it, enjoy an array of Southern Maryland seafood from Thompson's Seafood Catering and Spinnakers Restaurant.

There will be free admission to the museum and water-taxi transportation to St. Clement's Island, the arrival site of Maryland's first colonists in 1634.

The festival begins at 4 p.m. Saturday on the lawn of the Potomac River Museum, 38370 Point Breeze Road, Colton's Point. Tickets are $35; $30 in advance. Food is not included. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. No coolers. Call 301-769-2222.
