THE BALTIMORE SUN

Joyce A. Giustina, a retired licensed practical nurse and former bartender, died of undetermined causes Saturday at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She was 69 and lived in Severna Park.

Born and raised Joyce A. Monninger in Baltimore, she was a graduate of city public schools. Mrs. Giustina graduated in 1951 from Baltimore City Hospital's nursing course.

After raising her family, Mrs. Giustina worked as a bartender at the Sunset Lounge in Glen Burnie, where she was in charge of the restaurant's back bar for nearly 20 years.

After leaving the Sunset Lounge in 1992, she was employed as a licensed practical nurse at Crownsville Hospital Center. She retired in 1996.

She then spent part of the year at a second home in Jalisco, Mexico.

She was an avid Ravens fans and enjoyed dancing and reading.

"She even paid to have cable in Mexico so she could watch the Ravens games," said her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Giustina of Hampstead.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Barranco & Sons Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park.

Mrs. Giustina is survived by a son, Vittorio J. Giustina of Hampstead; two sisters, Lillian C. Serio of Severna Park and Julia K. Monninger of Pylesville; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
