Academy band:

Comedy theater:
Do or Die Productions Inc., an Anne Arundel County-based improvisation theater company, will hold its Independence Day show, Resigned to Murder, at 8 p.m. today at the Studio Theatre at Chesapeake Arts Center, 194 Hammonds Lane in Brooklyn Park. Dance classes:
The Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts will offer Roots and Rhythm, a class in styles of progressive dance, including tap dance and clogging, from 10 a.m. to noon July 15 through July 19 for children ages 7 to 12. A version of the class for ages 13 to 20 will cover Appalachian flatfooting, tap, clogging, step dance, the South African gum boot dance, and hamboning. 410-269-1087.
Dance lessons:
The Historic Annapolis Foundation presents Colonial Dance Lessons from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and July 16 and 23 at the William Paca House and Garden, 186 Prince George St. in Annapolis. Film classes:
The Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts will offer two classes for children ages 11 to 15 in technical aspects of filmmaking from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 22 through July 26, and from July 29 through Aug. 2. Creative summer:
The Chesapeake Center for the Creative Arts will offer a series of summer courses with day and evening sessions. Classes begin next week and run through Aug. 29. The summer schedule includes classes in dance, including ballet, tap, jazz, modern and social dance; and theater, including monologue study, improvisation, scene study, stage combat, storybook make-believe, theater craft and fundamentals of acting. World premiere:
The Chesapeake Center for the Creative Arts will present the world premiere of Amanda's Line by award-winning playwright Kathleen Barber. Blooming art:
Main Street Gallery will present In Full Bloom, a group show featuring four artists with different styles, through Sunday at the gallery, 109 Main St., in Annapolis. The four artists are Janice Antinucco, an impressionist who creates landscapes and floral paintings in colored oils with a palette knife; Michael Seward, a master furniture maker; Merla Tootle, whose flowing watercolors depict floral motifs; and Linda Volrath, who creates realistic floral paintings in oil.
