THE BALTIMORE SUN

F. Elizabeth Williams, a social worker and volunteer, died Thursday of complications from a heart condition at a nursing home on Nantucket Island, Mass., where she moved a year ago to be near her daughter. She was 92 and had been a longtime Ruxton resident.

Her career as a social worker was spent primarily with what is now Family and Children's Services of Central Maryland and at Mount Wilson Hospital in Owings Mills. She also taught history for a year at Garrison Forest School.

A native of Havre de Grace, F. Elizabeth Brown attended the Girls' Latin School and Friends School before graduating from Forest Park High School in 1929. She earned a degree from Goucher College in 1933 and received her master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Work.

In 1940, she married Richard Williams Jr., an insurance executive, who died in 1965.

She lived in Bolton Hill and Upperco before moving to Ruxton in 1945.

Mrs. Williams was a volunteer with the American Red Cross and at Goucher College, where she raised funds for scholarships.

She was a member of the congregation of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Ruxton and a member of the Ruxton Players, a theater group. She was known to friends as an excellent cook. She gave dinner parties, played bridge, and enjoyed embroidering, solving crossword puzzles and reading.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Mrs. Williams is survived by a son, Richard Williams of Boston; a daughter, Carol Benchley of Siasconset, Mass.; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A daughter, Katherine Brown, died last year.
