Phillies update

With Major League Baseball deciding this interleague rivalry must be sustained, the Orioles and Phillies meet again after playing a three-game series at the Vet June 14-16. The Phillies remain in last place in the NL East, and are 13-24 on the road with last night's 7-3 win in Florida. Manager Larry Bowa dropped Jimmy Rollins from the leadoff spot to second in the order this week. Rollins was mired in a 1-for-28 slump before getting two hits, walking twice and scoring four runs Tuesday. The Orioles took two of three from the Phillies earlier this month. Ponson held them to one run over six innings in the opener. Person allowed three runs in six innings, and also nailed Tony Batista in the head with a fastball. Jay Gibbons hit a three-run homer off left-hander Dan Plesac the following night, but the Orioles lost in 10 innings, 4-3. Driskill allowed two runs over 6 1/3 innings to win the final game.
