David M. Figura, a senior state auditor, died Monday of cancer at Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care in Towson. He was 52 and lived in Anneslie.
A senior auditor for the past 24 years, he worked in the Office of Legislative Audits in downtown Baltimore.
Born in Baltimore and raised in Dundalk, Mr. Figura was a 1967 graduate of Patapsco High School.
After earning degrees in marketing and accounting from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, he earned a master's degree in business administration from Loyola College in 1984.
A memorial Mass will begin at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, York and Overbrook roads, Rodgers Forge. A visiting hour will be held before the service.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 25 years, the former Marie E. Barne; two sons, Brian David Figura and Michael Joseph Figura, both of Anneslie; his parents, Jacob S. and Sophie H. Figura of Dundalk; and a brother, James S. Figura of North Salem, N.Y.
