A 2-year-old Columbia boy was in critical condition last night at Johns Hopkins Hospital after he fell into his family's swimming pool, Howard County police said.

The toddler, who was not identified by police, was found in the pool by siblings about 6:30 p.m., said Officer Lisa Myers, a Howard County police spokeswoman. His parents performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation until paramedics arrived.

Police said the incident occurred in the 11000 block of Barwell Downs.
