Baltimore County police have arrested and charged a truck driver accused of hitting and killing a Baltimore man late Thursday night.

Keith Patrick Peddicord, 34, of the 1200 block of Tupelo Place in Essex was driving a 1998 Dodge truck north on Wilson Point Road about 10:30 p.m. when James Irvin Bell, 34, was hit while walking south along the street, police said. Bell, of the 100 block of Denison St., was thrown into a roadside ditch and the driver fled the scene, according to police.

Bell's body was discovered about 5:45 a.m. Friday, police said. Using evidence at the scene, police charged Peddicord Friday. He was being held in lieu of $75,000 bail.
