Kevin R. Connor, 42, community affairs specialist

Funeral services for Kevin R. Connor, a community affairs specialist in the Baltimore County Office of Fair Practices, will be held at 11 a.m. today at New Psalmist Baptist Church, 4501 1/2 Old Frederick Road in Catonsville.

Mr. Connor, who was 42, died Sunday in an automobile crash on the Baltimore Beltway. He was a Randallstown resident.

"Kevin was such a vibrant and enthusiastic person," said Baltimore County Executive C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger. "He gave tirelessly to every project he worked on, and he always did it with a smile."

Friends said he could communicate well with people from all walks of life.

"Kevin's smile would brighten our office each time he walked through the door," said Adrienne Jones, executive director of the Office of Fair Practices, where he worked.

Born in Baltimore, he was a 1978 graduate of Edmondson High School and earned a degree at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

A member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, he enjoyed softball, football and golf.

In 1987, he married Clara Cherry, a registered nurse who is a consultant with the state Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Mr. Connor is also survived by an 11-year-old daughter, Jessica Connor of Randallstown; his parents, John and Barbara Connor of Baltimore; and two sisters, Karen Connor-Quamina and Darlene Connor, both of Baltimore.
