2000 Domaines Schlumberger Alsace Pinot Blanc ($14). This sleek, exotic, dry pinot blanc was the best value among four excellent new releases by Domaines Schlumberger, a terrific producer that sounds much more appealing in French (shloom-BARE-zhay). This pinot blanc isn't as weighty as many from Alsace, but it's beautifully delineated, long-finishing and complex - with a flavor mix that includes pear, peach, melon, coconut, litchi and honey. Try this wine with spicy Asian dishes, pork, poultry or seafood. Look also for Schlumberger's 1998 riesling "Les Princes Abbes," 1999 pinot gris "Les Princes Abbes" and 2000 gewurztraminer "Fleur."
