A one-time Harford County resident who operates a teen club in the county is facing child sex-abuse charges after being arrested in York County, Pa.
Guy Talbot Whitlock, 38, of the 7800 block of Woodbine Road in Airville, Pa., was arrested at his home Friday and charged with three counts of indecent contact, all misdemeanors, said Trooper Serell C. Ulrich of the Pennsylvania State Police. Whitlock is accused of fondling and having other contact over a four-year period with a girl between the ages of 8 and 12, according to charging documents.
Whitlock was released on his own recognizance by Southeastern York County District Justice Nancy Edie, according to police.
Whitlock opened The Cutting Edge, a teen nightclub and coffeehouse in Whiteford, a little more than a month ago, according to court records. He previously worked at the Bel Air Athletic Club; as a classroom teacher at Harford Day School; and in Baltimore public schools, court records indicate.
From the late 1980s, Whitlock lived for several years in the Joppa and Bel Air areas.
Sandy Conway, business manager of Harford Day School, confirmed yesterday that Whitlock had worked at the school but refused to confirm his dates of employment. "He left in good standing with the school," she said.
John Gorman, general manager of Bel Air Athletic Club, confirmed that Whitlock had worked at the facility and said it was before Wellbridge Corp. took over the club in 2000. He said he would not provide further information on Whitlock's employment.
