Police investigate after woman's body found in parking lot
Anne Arundel County police were questioning a man and trying to find witnesses who might have information about what happened to a woman whose body was discovered in the parking lot of a Brooklyn Park church early yesterday.
Responding to a report of an injured person, police found the unidentified woman's body about 2:15 a.m. yesterday at Maryland's Church on the Rock, officials said.
An autopsy was performed yesterday, said Officer Charles Ravenell, a county police spokesman.
A clerk at a nearby store said a man had asked him to call police for help with an injured person. Baltimore police later found the man and his minivan on Hanover Street, according to police reports.
The man was taken into custody for questioning yesterday, while crime lab technicians searched the minivan, police said.
Quinter announces plans to run for House seat
Neil Quinter, a former assistant state attorney general, has announced his candidacy for a 13th District House of Delegates seat.
The 40-year-old Democrat said he would work to stop plans for a high-speed train running through portions of Anne Arundel County.
State Attorney General J. Joseph Curran Jr. introduced Quinter at a campaign event Saturday at Brock Bridge Elementary School in Maryland City. The event was attended by about 40 supporters. The 13th District includes parts of western Anne Arundel County and eastern Howard County.
Quinter, a Columbia resident, graduated cum laude from Harvard University Law School and has worked for Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California.
Other Democrats seeking nomination for the three seats in the 13th District are Ada Bohorfoush and incumbents Dels. Frank S. Turner and Shane Pendergrass.
