Mayfield association house, garden tour to be held today

The sixth annual Mayfield Home and Garden Tour, featuring nine properties in the Mayfield neighborhood, is scheduled for 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today

"There are a lot of secret hidden gardens that you don't see driving through the neighborhood," said former Mayfield Improvement Association Inc. board member Dwayne Harrison, who started the tour five years ago. "People in the 'burbs with great expansive lawns like to come into the city and see what people with these tiny gardens do with this space."

Tickets are available for $8 at St. Matthew's Church, 3400 Norman Ave. Proceeds go toward maintaining the common areas of Mayfield, which is seeking historic designation. Call: 410-467- 2113 for more information.
