Some of college lacrosse's premier seniors will play tomorrow at Johns Hopkins University's Homewood Field, site of the USILA's 61st annual North-South All-Star games. The Division III game begins at noon, with the Division I All-Stars facing off at 3 p.m.
In Division I, the North roster is headlined by Josh Coffman, one of the offensive stars for NCAA champion Syracuse, Orangeman defenseman John Glatzel, the All-American by way of Boys' Latin, and Hofstra attackman Tom Kessler, the first draft choice of the Bayhawks. They'll be coached by Greg Cannella of Massachusetts and Jack Kaley of New York Tech.
UMBC's Don Zimmerman and Fred Acee of Air Force will direct the Division I South stars, who include Virginia's Conor Gill (St. Paul's) and Georgetown's Steve Dusseau.
The South roster also includes Loyola College defensemen Jon Brasko and Michael Stromberg; Maryland midfielders Brian Carroll and Nate Watkins; Navy goalie Jon Higdon (South River) and defenseman Micah Sybor; Towson attackman Brad Reppert and midfielder Josh Tankersley; and UMBC midfielder John Harasym.
Conspicuous by their absence are any players from Johns Hopkins. The Blue Jays are in Japan playing exhibitions and giving clinics.
Participants with roots in the area include Virginia midfielder Brenndan Mohler (Catonsville), North Carolina midfielder Pat Jackson (Loyola) and four defensemen: Penn's Scott Marimow (St. Paul's); Villanova's Chris Bowman (McDonogh); Ohio State's John DiCamillo (St. Paul's); and Notre Dame's Anthony Wright (Loyola).
Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for children 12 and under.
