In a column Monday, I wrote that Gov. Howard Dean of Vermont "champions" gay marriage. He advised me that he does not, and that the civil union bill to which I referred, and which he supports, "grants equal rights to gay and lesbian Vermonters ... comparable to all other Vermonters, including married couples." I regret the error.
