Odenton man dies in Mo. when car hits tire on highway

OVERTON, Mo. - An 84-year-old Odenton man died yesterday when his car hit a tire on Interstate 70, crossed the median and crashed head-on into a tractor-trailer, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Marion F. Taylor, 84, a retired military employee and resident of Queen Anne Avenue for more than 40 years, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred shortly after noon.

The truck driver was seriously injured in the crash, police said.

Pasadena child, 2, hurt when he falls from tower

MIDDLE RIVER - A 2-year-old Pasadena boy was injured yesterday when he fell about 30 feet from an observation tower window at a state park in Baltimore County, authorities reported.

Devon Bachmaier was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital after the accident at Hart-Miller Island State Park near Middle River, said Renee Samuels, a spokeswoman for the state Department of Natural Resources.

The boy was in good condition last night, a hospital spokeswoman said.
