Elizabeth A. Simpson, a registered nurse and former night nursing supervisor at Keswick Multi-Care Center, died May 28 of lung cancer at her Roland Park home. She was 68.
Mrs. Simpson was night nursing supervisor at the Roland Park nursing home from 1979 until her retirement in 1996.
Elizabeth A. Martelli was born and raised in Berwick, Pa. She earned her nursing degree from the Bellevue Hospital School of Nursing in New York City in 1954.
While working at Bellevue Hospital, she met her future husband, Dr. David G. Simpson. They married in 1956.
In 1964, the couple moved to Baltimore when he was named associate professor of medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Simpson, who was later head of the division of pulmonary diseases at University of Maryland Medical Center, died in 1996.
Mrs. Simpson enjoyed embroidery and needlework and working in her perennial garden. She also liked cooking Italian, French and Indian food for family and friends.
She was a member of the Keswick Retirees and Roland Park Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Simpson is survived by three sons, A. Gordon Simpson of Roland Park, Ian B. Simpson of Paris and R. Wallace Simpson of Issaquah, Wash.; a daughter, Elizabeth S. Beirne of Reisterstown; two brothers, Nicholas Martelli of Reading, Pa., and Michael Martelli of Honolulu; three sisters; Diane Martelli of Honolulu, Camille Belolan of Nescopeck, Pa., and Roseanne Dellegrotti of Danville, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
