Pietsch, Winger, Capuano VPs at SilentRunner
SilentRunner Inc., a Linthicum-based data security subsidiary of Raytheon Co., named three new vice presidents: Brooke Pietsch, international sales; Pat Winger, Americas sales; and David Capuano, marketing.
Pietsch, a graduate of Boston University and former sales manager for Network Engines, is responsible for European, Middle Eastern, Asian and African sales. Winger is responsible for sales in the Americas. A former executive vice president and chief operating officer of Aegisoft, he received an M.B.A. from State University of New York at Albany. Capuano oversees corporate marketing and communications, advertising, branding and public relations. He is an economics graduate of St. Lawrence College and was a vice president with TruSecure Corp.
Imre Communications names Ebner a partner
Imre Communications named Mark Ebner a partner. Formerly public relations director for Sheppard Pratt Health System, he joined the Towson-based communications agency in 1997 as a senior account executive, and was appointed chief operating officer in 2000.
A graduate of Towson University, where he serves as an adjunct faculty member, Ebner is also active with the local chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
Kidner elected partner by McLean, Koehler
McLean, Koehler, Sparks & Hammond elected Edward F. Kidner as a partner in the Towson-based accounting and business consulting firm. The Phoenix resident is a certified public accountant and a law graduate of West Virginia University.
Wasserman promoted; Bertrand, Pluda are VPs
MedImmune Inc. promoted Gail Folena-Wasserman to senior vice president, development, and hired William Bertrand as vice president, legal affairs, and Dr. James M. Pluda as vice president and group leader for clinical research.
Folena-Wasserman, who received a doctorate in chemistry from Pennsylvania State University, joined the Gaithersburg company in 1991. She formerly was with SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals. She is responsible for process and analytical methods development, as well as production of product candidates for clinical testing.
Bertrand is responsible for legal matters, including, commercial issues, contracts, intellectual property and litigation. A law graduate of the University of Wisconsin, he was formerly with Pharmacia Corp.
Pluda is responsible for overseeing the company's clinical oncology programs. He is a graduate of the Chicago Medical School. Pluda joined MedImmune after 16 years with the National Cancer Institute, where he was a senior clinical investigator in the developmental chemotherapy section.
