Robbery: Two men wearing ski masks and carrying handguns entered Young's Cleaners in the 1500 block of Homestead St. about 10:30 a.m. yesterday and ordered the owner to open the cash register. After learning the store had none, the robbers stole $200 from the owner's wallet and fled.
Vehicle theft: A white 2000 Chevy Tracker sport utility vehicle was stolen yesterday from the 5200 block of Goodnow Road. The owner had left the engine running as she went into her house for a moment and found the car gone when she returned.
Theft: A gray Verizon telephone junction box of unknown value was stolen from a residence in the 1800 block of Wilhelm St. yesterday morning. The occupant who reported the box missing told police her boyfriend had earlier warned her that if she did not stop talking on the phone, he would take measures to prevent it.
Drug arrest: A 30-year-old man was arrested in the 100 block of S. Calhoun St. on Thursday on suspicion of selling drugs. Police said the man was loitering on nearby South Stricker Street. When police approached, he threw a plastic bag of powdered pills and some purple vials to the ground and attempted to flee on foot.
Burglary: A PlayStation 2 game machine and several DVD movies were stolen from a house in the 2500 block of W. Fayette St. on Wednesday morning. The loss was estimated at nearly $800.
Robbery: A 25-year-old man was robbed of $160 by three men Wednesday evening in the 1600 block of Eastern Ave. Two of them approached the victim about 6:30 p.m. asking for a cigarette, then pushed him into an alley, where an accomplice was waiting with a handgun.
Burglary: An intruder may have been injured in breaking a rear window to enter a home in the 2300 block of Noonham Road on Tuesday, stealing a television and camcorder. Police found blood on the front door handle and throughout the house.
Burglary: Someone broke into the Long and Foster Realtors office in the 300 block of Main St. on Tuesday morning and took a Dell computer.
Vehicle theft: A 1999 Honda all-terrain vehicle was stolen Wednesday from a home in the 12000 block of Buttonwood Lane. The ATV was valued at $3,600.
North Point Precinct
Robbery: A woman told police that she was robbed about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 7500 block of Westfield Road. A man approached her asking for change for a dollar, then knocked her down and ran off with her purse, she said. The purse contained a wallet with $80, bank cards and keys.
