Mount women knock off St. Francis (Pa.)

Myriam Baccouche scored 15 points, as host Mount St. Mary's handed Northeast Conference-leading St. Francis (Pa.) its first conference loss, 64-52, in women's college basketball last night.

The Mount (8-11, 5-5 ) held the Red Flash (11-8, 9-1) to 31 percent shooting from the field, 16 percent below their season average.

St. Francis' eight-game winning streak ended with the loss.

The Mount trailed 34-33 with 18:21 left before going on an 11-0 run.

UMBC 68, Robert Morris 49: Jessie Brown recorded a double double with a game-high 20 points and 11 assists to power the host Retrievers past the Colonials.

UMBC (8-11, 4-6 Northeast Conference) has defeated Robert Morris (1-16, 1-9) four straight times.

Brown finished three rebounds shy of achieving the first triple double in the program's history.

William & Mary 54, Towson 49: Jen Sobota scored a game-high 20 points, including the 1,000th of her college career, as the Tribe (9-10, 3-7 Colonial Athletic Association) rallied from a 32-23 halftime deficit to defeat the host Tigers (1-18, 0-10).

William & Mary ended its three-game losing streak and extended Towson's losing streak to 15.

Frostburg State 90, Villa Julie 38: Kim Faust led a quintet of double-digit Bobcat scorers with 19 as Frostburg routed the visiting Mustangs (2-16).

Washington College 51, College of Notre Dame 42: The visiting Shorewomen - led by Karen Simos' 16 points - broke a 23-23 halftime deadlock and beat the Gators.

Men

Washington College 86, Swarthmore 75: Andrew Gentile was 5-for-5 from three-point range, including three in the last six minutes, as the Shoremen (8-11, 3-5 Centennial Conference) downed the Garnet Tide (4-15, 1-7) at the Cain Athletic Center in Swarthmore, Pa.

Bryan Mason had 21 points and eight rebounds, and Gentile finished with 20 points.

Matthew Gustofson scored 23 for Swarthmore.
