8 groups receive $600,000 in grants

The Enterprise Foundation's Baltimore office awarded $600,000 in grants yesterday to eight city community development corporations.

The development corporations are to receive the money over the course of a year to support programs such as child care, affordable housing development, and after-school programs.

The recipients include two organizations in Sandtown, with the others in Druid Heights, Coppin Heights, East Baltimore, Southwest Baltimore and Cherry Hill.
