Beale Street Puppets to perform 'Out of Orbit' twice on Monday


The Wilde Lake Community Association will sponsor two performances of Out of Orbit, a play for all ages by the Beale Street Puppets, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday at Slayton House in Wilde Lake Village Center.

Tickets, which should be purchased in advance, are $5. Some may be available at the door.

The community's breakfast with Santa will have two seatings, at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., Dec. 1 at Slayton House. Cartoons will be shown during the pancake breakfast and each child will have a visit and a picture taken with Santa.

A "secret shop" will be open for children only, with Santa's elves as salespeople. Gift wrapping will be free.

Tickets, which must be purchased in advance, are $4.

Vaccine delay postpones flu shots for seniors

The Howard County Health Department flu clinics scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. tomorrow at Florence Bain Senior Center and 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Longwood Garden Apartments have been postponed because of a delay in delivery of the vaccine.

The clinics will be rescheduled when the vaccine is received.

Calloway will be accompanied by pianist Alex Brown, a freshman at Wilde Lake High School, and Blue Sky 5, a local swing band. Refreshments and dancing are planned.
