Workshops, programs to be offered to help job, career seekers

Carroll County Business and Employment Resource Center is offering workshops and programs to help individuals who are seeking a job or a new career.

Programs include:

Time Management: Learn how to strike a balance in different aspects of your life, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday.

Strategies for Effective Employment Knowledge: This workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 5-8 will go through key points of job searching, including the hidden job market, interviewing techniques, first impressions and more.

Steve Meszaros inducted as president of CCAR

O'Conor, Piper & Flynn ERA announced that Steve Meszaros, Mount Airy sales office manager, was recently inducted as president of the Carroll County Association of Realtors.

Gary Bockelmann, Westminster sales associate, and John Eichler, Reisterstown sales office manager, were installed as vice president and secretary, respectively, of the association.

Judy Tyree, Westminster sales office manager and outgoing association president, remains on the board.

Meszaros, a 24-year real estate veteran, is a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Maryland Association of Realtors. The Eldersburg resident is a volunteer on the fund-raising committee for Change Inc. He holds a master's degree in finance from George Washington University and a bachelor of science degree in business management from University of Baltimore.

Bockelmann, a nine-year veteran, holds the Graduate, Realtor Institute and Accredited Buyer Representation professional designations. The Westminster resident is a Certified Residential Specialist candidate.

Eichler, a Millers resident, began his real estate career with O'Conor, Piper & Flynn 12 years ago. He has served five years on the association's board of directors. He holds GRI, ABR, and CRS professional designations.

Westminster man opens Ritchie Automotive shop

Joseph Knauer has teamed with Ritchie Automotive to open a location at 1061 Baltimore Blvd. in Westminster.

Knauer is a Westminster resident and had worked for Generations Auto of Reisterstown. He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and is involved in the community.

Ritchie Automotive has been in the business of engine remanufacture and auto repair for more than 30 years. Remanufacturing saves money and helps the environment by recycling parts.

The business will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Information: 410-871-3005.

Lynn Rill to represent Carroll YMCA branch

Lynn Rill, senior vice president of Westminster Union Bank, has joined the corporate board of the YMCA of Central Maryland as the branch board representative for the Carroll County YMCA branch.

He has been a Carroll YMCA board member since 1997 and is active in the community in other capacities.

Rill holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Western Maryland College and a master's degree from Loyola College.

He is a resident of Westminster.

Four Seasons complex names general manager

Tusha Dobry has joined Four Seasons Sports Complex and Fitness Center in Hampstead as general manager.

She will be responsible for the management of the center and development of corporate sponsorships that involve corporate wellness programs and business events.

She retired from Lucent Technologies with more than 24 years' experience in business management and administration.
