Army band set to play chamber music

THE BALTIMORE SUN

The Town Center Community Association will sponsor an evening of chamber music by the U.S. Army Field Band, "The Musical Ambassadors of the Army," at 7 p.m. Sept. 30 at Historic Oakland, 5430 Vantage Point Road.

Musical selections for flute, clarinet, violin, viola, cello, harp, saxophone, piano and vocalists are planned. Coffee and dessert will be served after the free concert. Reservations are required.

Atholton High to hold college night Monday

Atholton High School will hold a College Information Night at 7 p.m. Monday in the school cafeteria.

Topics to be discussed will include the college application process, financial aid and scholarships, and SAT and ACT testing. Representatives from private and public four-year colleges and Howard Community College will be on hand.

Graduates: Air Force Airman Jerome R. Parkinson III, son of Edith M. Cintron of Town Center, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. He is a 2000 graduate of Wilde Lake High School.
