150 Years of Howard History


Howard County, which began July 4, 1851, as a western outpost of neighboring Anne Arundel County, is celebrating its 150th anniversary.

The Howard County edition of The Sun will publish a column on county history and the people who were part of it Tuesdays during the school year. This week's column, on Page 3B, recounts the fight by Leola M. Dorsey and others to dismantle racial barriers in the county.
