Baltimore City

Southern District

Drug arrest: Officer Kevin Carvell was in the 1600 block of McHenry St. about 11 a.m. Sunday when he saw two men allegedly involved in a drug transaction. Carvell chased one man into a house on the block before catching the man outside the house. Recovered in the house were several capsules and plastic baggies containing suspected heroin or cocaine. Charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and processed at Central Booking and Intake Center was Shawn Berry, 31, of the 1800 block of W. Lombard St.

Arrest: Several people witnessed a purse snatching Sunday near the Hollins Street market and held a male suspect for police. The victim, a woman, 42, from York, Pa., was in the 800 block of Hollins St. about noon when a man stole her purse and fled. Several witnesses pursued the man a short distance and held him for police. The purse was recovered. Charged with theft and processed at Central Booking and Intake Center was Terry Edward, 40, of no fixed address.

Baltimore County

Essex Precinct

Rape/arrests: Two men, one 40 and the other 30, were arrested Friday and charged with raping a woman, 40, in an apartment in the 900 block of Holgate Drive. The men's names were not available. The woman told police she was drinking about 10 p.m. when she passed out and was awakened while being raped.

Garrison Precinct

Rape: Police continue to seek a man who attacked a woman from behind when she entered her apartment in the 200 block of Carraway Road on May 19 and raped her. Anyone with information is urged to call the precinct at 410-887-1570.

Parkville Precinct

Robbery: A woman, 40, was getting cash at an automated teller machine outside the Putty Hill Shopping Plaza in the 7900 block of Belair Road about 12:40 a.m. Saturday when a man who implied he was armed with a handgun robbed her.
