Montgomery Co. man, 21, arrested, charged in his mother's death

Montgomery County police have arrested a 21-year-old Silver Spring man and charged him in the killing of his mother, who was reported missing May 10.

Osebor K. Clark was taken into police custody shortly after 11 p.m. Friday, charged with second-degree murder and jailed yesterday morning in lieu of $1 million bail.

Lillita Clark's mother last spoke with her about 1 a.m. May 9, when Clark complained that her son was a "troublemaker" and that she wanted him to move out of her apartment, police said. Later that day, she failed to show up at Fort Meade, where she worked as a technician.

Forensic investigators found evidence of blood and blood stains inside Lillita Clark's apartment sufficient to indicate that an assault and heavy blood loss had occurred. There also were indications that someone had tried to clean the carpets and other areas of the apartment, police said.

Although Clark's body has not been found, detectives Friday traced the purchase of carpet cleaner and cleaning supplies that were found in the apartment to the victim's son, police said.
