Drug arrests: District drug enforcement unit officers arrested 22 men and three women on drug charges Saturday and Sunday while assisting Western District police in developing information about suspects in three homicides over the weekend, said Sgt. Timothy Devine, head of the drug enforcement unit. Seized were $6,000 worth of cocaine, heroin and marijuana. Many of the arrests were the result of police observing drug sales on streets in the area of the slayings. All the suspects were charged with drug offenses and were processed at Central Booking and Intake Center, Devine said.
Assault: Police were seeking at least four teen-age males who attacked a 33-year-old man as he walked across the campus of Hampden Elementary School in the 3600 block of Chestnut Ave. about 4 a.m. Sunday. The man suffered minor injuries and was treated at Sinai Hospital and released.
Assault: A woman, 20, was among several people standing outside Gator's Pub in the 5900 block of York Road about 1:30 a.m. Sunday when a red sport-utility vehicle occupied by a least two males stopped. Police said someone in the vehicle threw a bottle into the crowd, striking the woman in the hand and cutting her. The woman was treated at Sinai Hospital. No arrests have been made.
Robbery: A man grabbed a woman, 39, in a bear hug and stole her purse containing $79, a cellular phone valued at $100 and a mortage payment check about 1 a.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of W. 40th St.
Burglary: More than $1,000, three passports and a bag were stolen over the weekend from a house in the 2400 block of E. Fairmount Ave. by someone who entered through a rear door.
Burglary: A .22-caliber handgun, compact disc player and several compact discs were stolen from a house in the 600 block of N. Decker Ave. Sunday by someone who entered through a rear kitchen window.
Stolen vehicle: A white 1992 Dodge van with tags M425141 was stolen Sunday in the 3700 block of Gough St.
Stolen vehicle: A red 1995 Jeep Cherokee with tags AAK 59G was stolen ove the weekend in the 500 block of S. Kenwood Ave.
Stolen car: A green 1993 Plymouth Acclaim with tags GCT 201 was stolen from a home in the 1100 block of W. Hamburg St. about 9 p.m. Sunday.
Burlary: Between April 19 and Sunday, someone entered a garage in the 1200 block of Battery Ave. and stole two mountain bicycles, with a combined value of $1,100.
Robbery: Three boys were arrested Sunday after they stole the bicycle of a fourth boy, 11, during a fight in the first block of Barron Ave. The bicycle was recovered. The three were charged as juveniles with assault and robbery and released into the custody of their parents.
Theft: A white-and-blue 1999 Jianshe-brand motorcycle of unknown value was stolen over the weekend from the rear yard of a house in the 1100 block of N. Marllyn Ave.
Burglary: Stero receivers and speakers -- all of unknown value -- were stolen from a house in the 200 block of Riverthorn Road between April 29 and Sunday by someone who entered through a rear door.
Robbery: A gunman robbed Royal Farms in the 7200 block of York Road of $106 about 2:45 a.m. Sunday and fled down Stevenson Lane.
Burglary: A bank bag containing an undisclosed sum of money was stolen from Raimondi's Florist in the 700 block of Dulaney Valley Road overnight Saturday.
Burglary: Three computers -- all valued at $7,000 -- were stolen overnight Friday from American Radiology Services in the 1200 block of York Road.
Burglary: Collectible baseball cards valued at nearly $400 were stolen from a storage locker in an apartment building in the 7900 block of Belridge Road.
