Two men -- ages 26 and 27 -- were killed last night in West Baltimore during a gunfight between a number of males, police said.
The names of the dead men were withheld pending notification of family members.
No arrests had been made, and police were seeking a motive.
Police spokesman Kevin J. Enright said police responded to numerous shots fired about 8:45 p.m. in the 900 block of Edmondson Ave. at Fremont Avenue and found a man in a vacant lot and another in the street about 50 feet apart. Both were bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds. Numerous shell casings were found nearby, he said.
Enright said the men were pronounced dead about 30 minutes later at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Police also found shell casings in the 1000 block of Edmondson Ave. at Schroeder Street, about two blocks west of where the men were shot, but found no victims, said Lt. Errol Etting.
Two people in the area, apparently victims, suffered minor wounds in the incident.
Enright said a man, 35, with a leg wound drove himself to Bon Secours Hospital in the 2000 block of W. Baltimore St. about 9:20 p.m. His condition was not available, and police were interviewing him.
Etting said the girl, who suffered a graze wound to a leg, was taken to Bon Secours by her mother and treated. She was interviewed by police, Etting said.
