Session to focus on helping kids to learn

"Active Kids are Learning Kids" is the title of a program being presented from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. May 9 by the University of Maryland Cooperative Extension at its Glen Burnie office in Suite 210 of the county government building at 7320 Ritchie Highway.

Extension educator Mary Ellen Schachat will teach participants to design sensory play experiences, which help children understand their senses by playing with clay, sand and water. She will discuss techniques on how to keep children active and to build a curriculum for learning children.
