Benefit for Constellation
Maybe Mother Nature just wanted the crew of the USS Constellation to feel at home by surrounding them with water - again. Here it was, "The Second Annual St. Patrick's Day Blast" benefiting the ship from the Civil War era. And, for the second straight year, it was raining.
But that didn't keep any of the 155 guests from having a good time inside The Brass Elephant Restaurant. They drank a little Irish whiskey, nibbled on Irish and Italian fare, and enjoyed Irish music.
Among the happy-go-lucky group: Ken Valley, event chair; Gail Shape and Dave Beck, Constellation board co-chairs; Bill Gilmore, Nancy Bloom, Steve Bockmiller and Larry Bopp, board members; Chris Rowsom, Constellation executive director; Jack Elsby, Brass Elephant owner; Mary Sue McCarthy, Fish Out of Water project manager; Ann Dandridge, National Historic Seaport of Baltimore marketing and sales director; Justin Binnix, Niermann Weeks product development director; Cary Lynch, General Ship Repair vice president; Nolan North, T. Rowe Price assistant treasurer; Meg Fielding, Family & Children's Services director of development; Dr. Christine Papageorgis, E.A. Engineering environmental consultant; Phil McCormick, A Better Design principal; Christopher Santori, Heritage International director of operations; Michele Wells, Whiteford Taylor & Preston communications manager; Tim McClure, Citigroupproject manager; and Roger Wells, Northrop Grumman engineering manager
The party raised $30,000 to help restore the Constellation's captain's cabin.
