Baltimore-based Vertis Inc., a $2 billion marketing company that delivers advertising products and services, announced yesterday that it has reorganized into six business units.
The 10,000-employee company, which has 160 locations in the United States and United Kingdom, now will consist of: Vertis Advertising Production Services, Vertis Retail and Newspaper Services, Vertis Direct Marketing Services, Vertis Media & Marketing Services, Vertis Newspaper Premedia Services and Vertis Digital Production Services.
Vertis is the name adopted in July for the company formed by the integration of several established brands in printing, advertising and marketing, including the LTC Group, TC Advertising Inc. and Webcraft Inc. Those companies previously operated under one holding company.
"The big difference is that all these companies will now be working together," said Herbert W. Moloney, chief operating officer for North America for Vertis. "The biggest advantage for our customers is to be able to turn to one company to deliver complete, integrated advertising products and services."
About 125 employees staff the Baltimore headquarters office on West Pratt Street. That office was the home of TC Advertising since the company moved to the area from Glendora, Calif., in 1995. The office now has become the corporate headquarters for Vertis Inc.
Vertis also operates an office in Manassas, Va., with more than 200 employees and an office in Washington with seven employees.
The company serves more than 3,000 newspapers, retailers, consumer and commercial product manufacturers and advertising agencies. Its clients include: Kraft, Dial Corp., Wal-Mart, Kroger and First USA.
Vertis delivers consumer and media research, media planning and placement, creative services, circulation-building newspaper products and services, and strategic media consulting. Included in Vertis' work is the weekly printing of 30 million comic inserts and 20 million television guides for newspapers.
