An unidentified man jumped over the retaining wall of southbound Interstate 95 in East Baltimore and fell about 25 feet onto heavily traveled eastbound Pulaski Highway, disrupting rush-hour traffic yesterday evening.
The man, who was not struck by any vehicles, suffered nonlife-threatening injuries and was admitted at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, said Cpl. Greg Prioleau, a spokesman for Maryland Transportation Authority Police.
Prioleau said a transportation authority officer was talking to the pedestrian on the southbound shoulder of I-95 about 4:45 p.m. when the man suddenly turned and jumped over the retaining wall.
