Parent support groups schedule programs on several topics
The Parent Support Networks of Centennial and Mount Hebron high schools will present the next in a series of evening programs, featuring experts and student panelists, on issues of concern to parents.
"Everything You Need to Know about Drugs and Alcohol" will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 16 at Mount Hebron High School.
"How Do You Handle It? Parents Discuss Parenting Issues" will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 20 at Centennial High School. "Teen Stress and Depression" will be held at 7 p.m. March 19 at Mount Hebron.
"Healthy Summer Choices: Job, Camp and Community Service Opportunities for Teens" will be held at 7 p.m. April 12 at Centennial High, and "Teen Sexuality" will be held at 7 p.m. at Mount Hebron.

School board to meet Jan. 11 in Ellicott City
The Board of Education of Howard County will meet at 4 p.m. Jan. 11 in the boardroom at the Department of Education, 10910 Route 108, Ellicott City.
During the evening session, which begins at 7:30 p.m., Superintendent John R. O'Rourke will present his Proposed FY2002 Operating Budget.
The afternoon and evening sessions will begin with a Listening Post, during which residents can address the board on any topic. No advance sign-up is required. The board may meet in closed session, beginning at 3 p.m.
