Telecommuting workshop planned Sept. 27 at HCC
The Howard County Chamber of Commerce, the Howard County Economic Development Authority and other agencies will sponsor a free seminar, "Telework: Putting the Pieces Together." The workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sept. 27 at the Howard Community College Business Training Center, 6751 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia.
Registration and a continental breakfast will be at 8:30 a.m.
The seminar will present the advantages of telecommuting as a business strategy that can benefit companies, employees and the environment.
Registration is requested by Wednesday. Admission is free.
Seminars on agribusiness available through Oct. 4-25
Maryland Cooperative Extension will offer seminars on agriculture-related businesses from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Wednesdays from Oct. 4 through 25 at the Howard County office, 3525-L Ellicott Mills Drive, Ellicott City.
Course topics will include small-scale farming, production techniques and pasture management.
The cost is $25; $40 a couple to cover the cost of materials. Registration ends Friday.
