The second-team All-Metro running back rushed for 242 yards and a school-record five touchdowns on 32 carries in Friday's 38-28 victory over Anne Arundel County rival Annapolis in the season opener for both squads. The 6-foot, 195-pound senior, who doubles as a defensive back, runs a 4.6-second 40-yard dash. Collins ranks among the state's top returning rushers from a year ago. A member of the Patriots' basketball team last winter and a three-year member of the school's track program, Collins has scored 900 on his SAT, which he plans to take again. Collins visited the University of Maryland over the weekend and also has visited the University of Buffalo.
Dulaney, cross country
Last season's All-Metro Runner of the Year won two races last week, including the Lebanon Valley College Invitational in Annville, Pa. Against one of the strongest fields she will face this season, Zoltani covered the 3.2-mile course in 19:35 - 30 seconds ahead of the next finisher. Earlier in the week, she led the No. 2 Lions to victory in a four-team meet at Perry Hall. She won that three-mile race by nearly two minutes, finishing in 18:32. The defending state Class 4A champ is also an All-Metro runner in indoor and outdoor track.
