Man with gun robs downtown bank

A man with a gun held up a downtown Baltimore bank Friday morning and escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, city police said.

The incident occurred about 11 a.m. at the Bank of America at Light and Baltimore streets. Police said the gunman threatened a teller. It was the second robbery at that branch in three weeks.

Police make 21 arrests in reverse drug sting

Police officers posing as drug dealers arrested 21 people Friday and charged them with attempting to buy cocaine and marijuana along a 2-block stretch in West Baltimore. The operation was one in a series targeting buyers, many of whom live outside the city, as part of an effort to scare away addicts who help fuel the city's drug trade.

Warrant issued for suspect in Dundalk store burglary

TOWSON - Baltimore County police are searching for Danney M. Forbes Jr., 35, who has been charged in one smash-and-grab burglary and is a suspect in three others.

Police said yesterday they have issued an arrest warrant for Forbes, of no known address, in connection with a burglary at the High's store in the 6800 block of Broening Road in Dundalk on Sept. 3.

Baltimore man dies from gunshot wound

COLUMBIA - A Baltimore man died yesterday from injuries he suffered after he was shot in the head Wednesday in Columbia, according to a spokesperson from the Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Walter Scott Cook, 20, was shot at the Waverly Winds Apartments in Harpers Choice around 10 p.m., according to Howard County Police.

Howard County police would not comment last night, but had said if Cook died, his death would ruled a homicide. Police said Friday they were still searching for suspects in the shooting, which also injured Damany Hughes, 24, of Baltimore.
