Body found in park identified as Severn man
MILLERSVILLE - A body discovered over the weekend in Provinces Park on Disney Road was identified yesterday, Anne Arundel County police said.
The body of Stewart "Anthony" Garfield, 36, of the 1700 block of Richfield Drive in Severn was found in the woods Sunday shortly before 9 a.m. by a man who drove to the park to wax his car, police said.
The state medical examiner determined the cause of death to be trauma to the upper body and classified it a homicide. Detectives are asking anyone who has information to call the Anne Arundel County Police Department's tip line at 410-923-4543.

Police capture suspect who escaped during booking
A handcuffed suspect in a Howard County assault case escaped while officers were booking him in the Southern District yesterday and remained free for six hours before being caught about a mile from the police station.
Police said David Baptise Gray, 19, of no known address was being booked on assault charges when he ran from the station, crossed U.S. 29 and fled into a construction zone.
More than a dozen officers, police dogs and a helicopter searched for the man, who was found about 10:30 p.m. at U.S. 29 and Johns Hopkins Road.

Sheriff's office identifies body pulled from the bay
Queen Anne's County sheriff's authorities confirmed last night that the body pulled from the Chesapeake Bay on Saturday was Jafar Komeylian, 50, of Stevensville.
Komeylian is believed to have killed an elementary school teacher who worked in his small business. Komeylian was identified through dental records, according to police.
Police had been searching for Komeylian since Diane Marie Weaver, 45, was found stabbed to death in his home on Wednesday.
Weaver worked for Komeylian for five years as manager and secretary for his business, which sold miniature lighthouses.
