The Johns Hopkins University is ranked 15th in the most-watched of the college and university rankings - the U.S. News and World Report tally due out today.
Princeton University is ranked first, followed by Harvard and Yale. The California Institute of Technology, the top school last year, fell to fourth. Hopkins dropped from seventh.
The decline of these two schools is apparently due to a change in the survey, a reversal of the method used last year that gave greater weight to the amount schools spent per student, which favors science-oriented schools such as Cal Tech and Hopkins.
This year, Hopkins returned to what had been its usual place in these rankings.
