Sitel Corp. names Gibbons vice president

Sitel Corp. announced the appointment of Peter W. Gibbons as vice president for human resources for the Baltimore-based customer management relations firm. He will assist in the implementation of the company's global human resources strategy, organization development initiatives and with the continued development of Sitel University. A career officer of the U.S. Army, he recently retired with the rank of colonel, and holds graduate degrees from Florida State University and the National Defense University.

Convention association hires Noto for expansion

The Baltimore Area Convention & Visitors Association selected Larry Noto as communications manager, with primary responsibility to expand Baltimore promotion and public relations to the international and national media. A graduate of Loyola College, he was an assistant account executive with Stanton Communications and a producer for WMAR-TV, where his work received an Emmy Award nomination.


Kara joins agency based in Owings Mills

Bonnie Heneson Communications announced that Elizabeth Kara has joined the Owings Mills-based agency as an account executive. Among her responsibilities will be the writing of brochures, newsletters and features, as well as assisting in special events. A graduate of Towson University, she was formerly communications program assistant at the American Public Power Association.


Kletz becomes partner in accounting firm

Grant Thornton LLP has named Melanie H. Kletz as a partner in the national accounting firm's Baltimore office. A former senior manager, she heads the tax department. She is both a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner and is a member of several professional groups, including the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants, the International Association for Financial Planning and the Baltimore Estate Planning Council.
