Southeastern District
Arrests: Members of the district's FLEX Squad noticed a BMW being driven erratically in the 600 block of N. Milton Ave. about 2:35 a.m. Saturday and that its occupants were not wearing seat belts. The officers had the driver stop; they searched the vehicle and found a loaded .380 semiautomatic handgun and more than 100 gelatin capsules containing suspected heroin and $735. Charged with illegal possession of a handgun and possession of suspected narcotics and processed at Central Booking and Intake Center were Alfonso Branch, 34, of the 2600 block of McElderry St.; Floyd Matthews, 36, of the 500 block of N. Lakewood Ave.; Troy Boatwright, 26, of the 400 block of N. Luzerne Ave., and Judy Parker, 42, of the 1800 block of E. Eager St.
Explosive found: An apparently live World War II rifle grenade was found by police near a tree in the 300 block of S. Wolfe St. about 2 p.m. Saturday. A man had called 911 to report the weapon, which was given to the bomb squad and detonated safely at an undisclosed location. The incident is being investigated.
Northwestern District
Robbery: After exiting a taxicab about 10 a.m. Saturday in the 3900 block of Boarman Ave., a woman, 41, was struck in the face by a man who stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at nearly $300. The woman suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment..Western District
Robbery: A man was sitting on the front steps of his house in the 1300 block of N. Stockton St. about 1:30 a.m. Saturday when four men, one with a handgun, robbed him of his wallet containing $7.
Burglary: Someone entered a house in the 1600 block of Laurens St. Saturday through a rear door and stole a compact disc player and several pork chops, all of unknown value.
Arrests: Sgt. Greg Taylor was at North Smallwood and Hollins streets about 5 a.m. Saturday when he stopped a 1995 Nissan Maxima whose driver ignored a stop sign. After receiving permission to search the car, Taylor recovered a .380 semiautomatic handgun and arrested the driver and two passengers and charged them with illegal possession of a handgun. The men, whose names were not available, were processed at Central Booking and Intake Center.
Southern District
Aggravated assault: Several youths were fighting in the 5500 block of Fort Smallwood Road Saturday when one of them struck a male bystander with a metal pipe. The victim was treated at Harbor Hospital Center. The youth fled.
Eastern District
Shoplifting/arrest: A man, 27, was arrested Saturday by store security officers when he attempted to leave Stop, Shop & Save in the 1600 block of E. North Ave. without paying for meat products valued at $18.
Baltimore County
Towson Precinct
Burglary: Police were seeking a man who entered a house in the 1800 block of Lochshield Road between July 6 and Saturday through a rear door and stole two televisions, stereo equipment, a vacuum cleaner, 12 videocassette movies, a Caller ID and a pet iguana, all valued at more than $3,500.
Cockeysville Precinct
Burglary: Someone entered a garage in the 200 block of Kaufman Road over the weekend and stole a 1992 Honda XR-100 dirt bike valued at more than $1,500.
