Work is scheduled to begin next week on resurfacing of about a milelong section of Benfield Road, from Lynwood Drive to 300 feet past Faircastle Avenue in Severna Park, the county Department of Public Works announced yesterday.
Crews for Reliable Contracting of Millersville will grind down the deteriorated road surface and patch failing portions of the road base before applying a two-inch hot asphalt surface.
Reliable is expected to complete the $300,000 project by mid-August. Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays.
Residents with questions about the resurfacing project can contact the Department of Public Works' project manager, Wayne Menchey, at 410-222-4349.
Old Mill High recruiting exhibitors for craft show
The event does not take place until mid-November, but Old Mill High School's Band Booster Association is recruiting exhibitors for its fund-raising fall craft show.
James Ward, craft show chairman, said the boosters are hoping to sign up 100 crafts vendor-exhibitors - and with numerous crafts events taking place as the holiday season gets into full swing, summertime recruiting is essential.
The craft fair is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 18 in the cafeteria and lobby of the school on Patriot Lane in Millersville.
An 8-foot-by-8-foot space is $25, and an application may be obtained by calling Ward at 410-729-3052.
