Northwestern District

Theft: Someone stole electronics, including sound system equipment, a television and VCR, all valued at $1,300, from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the 1600 block of Reisterstown Road sometime between Friday and 1:30 p.m. yesterday, when the theft was discovered.

Attempted stolen car: Someone tried to steal a 1984 GMC van from the 3600 block of Springdale Ave. The owner discovered the steering column had been tampered with about 8:30 a.m. yesterday.

Southeastern District

Robbery: Five Marines were robbed at gunpoint Saturday night in the 1600 block of Eastern Ave. Two men - one of whom was armed with a handgun - approached the servicemen on the street about 10 p.m. and took jewelry valued at $650 and $177 in cash.

Robbery: A pizza deliveryman was robbed of $23 at knifepoint in the 1100 block of Travers Way around 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The robber wore a white mask from the movie "Scream."

Western District

Burglary: Someone entered an apartment in the 1200 block of W. Fayette St. by prying open a window between 6 p.m. on Saturday and 5:30 a.m. yesterday, and stole a calculator and a radio.

Car theft: Someone stole a 1997 Dodge Caravan from the 2600 block of Edmondson Ave. yesterday.

Arson: A Maryland Natural Resources Chevrolet Blazer was set on fire in the 1100 block of Pine Heights Ave. about 11:14 a.m yesterday. Gasoline was poured on the windshield of the sports utility vehicle and lit, allegedly as retaliation against a state employee.

Burglary: A welding machine valued at $1,400 was stolen from a business in the 2600 block of W. Lexington St. between 7:15 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. yesterday.

Recovered stolen car: A 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier stolen early Saturday morning in the 1300 block of Connecticut Ave. was recovered by the owner in the 4100 block of Frederick Ave. just after midnight yesterday.

Stolen tractor-trailer: A 1995 Volvo tractor-trailer was stolen in the 1000 block of Dukeland St. between 9 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. yesterday.

Stolen car: A 1992 Chrysler four-door sedan was stolen from the 3000 block of Normount Ave. between 11:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:40 a.m. yesterday.

Stolen car: A 1992 Ford Ranger was stolen from the 900 block of Wilkens Ave. between 5 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. yesterday.

Woodlawn Precinct

Attempted murder: A 21-year-old Baltimore man was in fair and stable condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center yesterday, recovering from stab wounds he suffered in a domestic dispute. Walter Barnes was driving a black Chevrolet truck and following a blue Toyota Celica with a male driver and female passenger about 5 p.m. Saturday in Woodlawn. Police said Barnes forced the car to pull over at Old Court and South Green roads in Randallstown, where Barnes and the man got into a fight and Barnes was stabbed in the abdomen with a kitchen knife. The man and woman fled and were apprehended at Liberty and Kelox roads. Antonio Lamont Barnes, no relation to the victim, was charged with second-degree attempted murder, assault and possession of marijuana. A large quantity of marijuana with an estimated street value of $3,700 was found in the car, police said. Barnes, of the first block of Cinnamon Circle, was being held without bail at the county detention center. Monet Charisse Jones, 19, also of the first block of Cinnamon Circle, was charged with second-degree assault and was being held on a $100,000 bond at the county detention center. The victim said he is the father of Jones' child and has been involved in a dispute with her over the child.

Essex Precinct

Burglary: Someone entered a house in the 2000 block of Oakland Road between 8 p.m. Saturday and 1:25 a.m. yesterday by breaking a basement door window and stole $1,000 and electronic equipment, including a microwave and a video game system.

Wilkens Precinct

Burglary: A Woodlawn man suspected of breaking into the Mount Zion Cemetery office and stealing a microwave was arrested about 4:45 p.m. yesterday. Police responded to a burglary in progress in the 3900 block of Hollins Ferry Road and found the suspect on Hollins Ferry Road at Interstate 695. Arrested and charged with burglary was Wilson Jerome Starkes, 50, of the first block of Pecan Court.
