Robbery: A male motorist picked up two men in the 3800 block of Edmondson Ave. about 4 p.m. Saturday and was driving away when one of them asked whether he was a hack, an unlicensed taxi driver. Moments later, two other men, one with a large caliber semiautomatic handgun, entered the car and demanded the driver's money. The driver said he had none, but he was robbed of two handguns, a .40-caliber model 22 Glock and a .40-caliber Model P-229 Sig Sauer. After the robbery, the driver sped off, lost control of his car and struck a fence. He was not injured. No arrests had been made.
Police car stolen/recovered: Someone stole an unattended city police car parked in the 2900 block of Ellicott Drive about 11:30 p.m. Friday. Police said the officer assigned to unit 1194 - with shop No. 9185 on the roof - was assisting a crime victim when someone drove off with the 1996 Ford Crown Victoria. The car was recovered a few blocks away, and no police equipment or property belonging to the officer was reported missing.
Stolen vehicle: A 1987 Dodge was stolen Saturday in the 100 block of Diener Place.
Stolen vehicle: A 1995 Dodge Caravan with tags 81322M was stolen Saturday in the 4200 block of Vermont Ave.
Robbery: Two men, one with a handgun, robbed a man, 35, of $300 in the 3200 block of W. North Ave. about 11 a.m. Saturday.
Assault: Two men were arguing over compact discs in the rear yard of a house in the 800 block of N. Augusta Ave. about 6 p.m. Saturday when one of them stabbed the other in the left hand and left arm with a knife. No arrest had been made. .
Stolen vehicle: A 1996 Ford van with tags 911538 was stolen in the 3200 block of Westwood Ave. over the weekend.
Robbery: A gunman and his female accomplice were in the 1800 block of Winchester St. about 7:25 p.m. Saturday when they robbed a man, 48, of more than $300. The man, known as "Jerry," and the woman fled on foot and were being sought.
Burglary: Someone entered A-1 Antiques in the 400 block of E. 31st St. through a door Saturday and stole an antique wardrobe of unknown value.
Theft from vehicle: A 35 mm camera, 200 mm lens and a camera tripod, all valued at nearly $1,000, were stolen from a 1993 Mazda Protege parked in the 200 block of E. 29th St. Saturday.
Burglary: A gas-powered lawn mower valued at $300 was stolen from a shed in the 400 block of Evesham Ave. Saturday.
Theft: Someone broke into a 1999 Honda Civic parked in the 3100 block of Barclay St. Saturday and stole several compact discs valued at $100.
Fireworks arrest: Officer David Hartman was in the 9600 block of Belair Road about 4 p.m. Saturday when he received information that two male juveniles were setting off fireworks at the nearby Northview Shopping Center. While interviewing the youths, Hartman seized a large quantity of assorted fireworks, including bottle rockets, M-90s and other pyrotechnics. One youth, 16, was charged as a juvenile with unlawful possession of fireworks and was released to the custody of his parents.
Theft/arrest: A boy, 15, was arrested Saturday when he tried to leave the Wal-Mart store in the 8100 block of Perry Hills Court without paying for compact discs valued at more than $42. In an unrelated incident at the same store Saturday, a woman, 18, was arrested when she tried to leave without paying for merchandise of unknown value.
Burglary: A mountain bicycle valued at $500 was stolen from a garage in the first block of Overbrook Road on Saturday.
Robbery: A male, 17, was in the 8200 block of Liberty Road about 3:20 p.m. Saturday when two males struck him with their firsts and robbed him of an undisclosed amount of money. The victim was treated for minor injuries at Sinai Hospital and released.
Robbery: A boy, 12, was riding his 1996 Targa moped in the 6700 block of Townbrook Drive about 8:20 p.m. Friday when an older male knocked him to the ground and stole the vehicle, valued at more than $1,000.
Stolen vehicle: A rented 2000 Pontiac Grand Am with tags DFY 01 was stolen in the 3600 block of Washington Blvd. Saturday.
