Union National Bancorp announces dividend
The board of directors of Union National Bancorp Inc. declared a cash dividend of 12 cents per share, payable Friday to share-holders of record June 16.
Shareholders also approved the proposed affiliation and merger of Union National Bancorp with Mercantile Bancshares Corp. at a special shareholder meeting June 6.
Under the proposal, the company's shareholders will receive 1.15 shares of Mercantile's common stock for each share of common stock of Union National owned.
Union National Bancorp is headquartered in Westminster. Its primary affiliate is Union National Bank.
Grant-wilting to be subject of workshop July 19
The Women's Business Institute will offer a workshop called "Developing Successful Grants" from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 19 at the Farmers & Mechanics National Bank headquarters in Frederick.
The training is intended for those who have never written a grant, for those with little experience and for advanced grant writers.
Participants will learn how to identify funding sources, how to save time with tips and techniques, how to develop a comprehensive grant-writing process, how to create grant-writing teams, how to use statistical sources to document needs, how to examine different components and how to gain extra review process points.
Michele L. Kreidler of IRIS Development Solutions will present the workshop.
Cost of the workshop is $75, and reservations are required by July 12.
