Patuxent Research Refuge's National Wildlife Visitor Center will celebrate National Fishing Week on June 11 with an educational event at the Laurel refuge.
The program for the one-day event is scheduled to include fly-tying demonstrations, programs on fish biology and habitat, and displays of lures and baits.
It will also feature information on angler ethics and local fishing opportunities, as well as a chance for visitors to practice their casting.
The event will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The visitor center is off Powder Mill Road between Route 197 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway in Laurel.
The refuge is one of the largest science and environmental education centers operated by the Department of the Interior.
